WordCamp Manchester 2016: we came, we saw, we did a whole bunch of talking. Oh and Wapuu made his final appearance of 2016 too. WordCamp Manchester caps a wonderful year for our team and Wapuu, both travelling hundreds of miles up, down and across the UK to talk about WordPress. We made appearances at London, Brighton, Belfast and finally Manchester. Hopefully you came and spoke with us, and grabbed some swag too.
This last UK WordCamp of 2016 was a stellar event for everyone involved, especially so for our team with no less than five brave souls taking to the stage, and speaking to attendees to share their expertise. Keith and Kayleigh from our WordPress specialist group, teamed up to pass on detailed, actionable info direct from the support trenches; their talk, Battling The White Screen Of Death, imparted hands on knowledge from working day in and out with WordPress installs and the common bugs we encounter. You can download their slides from the talk here. Keith also wrote about his own personal experience over on his blog here too.
Also taking to the stage during the lightning talk sessions, three other 34SP team members: Tim covered security and the recent large scale Internet DDoS event (we’re doooooomed); platform developer Phil explained how to prepare a WordPress site for a TV appearance; and Joe delivered a lively talk on five ways to help us, to help you.
If you haven’t been to a WordCamp yet, please do come and see us in 2017 across the UK, we love to talk WordPress! Here are some shots from the day, taken by our team and other attendees of the event.
